The First Avenue Playhouse, 123 First Ave. Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey is one of the oldest continuously running community theatres in Monmouth County. Located in downtown Atlantic Highlands, The First Avenue Playhouse is a dessert theatre that is preparing to celebrate it's 30th anniversary of providing a variety of live theatre choices such as comedies or musicals as well as original productions by local playwrights.

We recently celebrated its 30th anniversary of providing quality live entertainment to the northern Monmouth County area. We are a top rated attraction on TRIPADVISOR for the bayshore area. Visitors can be entertained by a newly staged play every month throughout the year. We offer original plays by local playwrights along with a variety of comedies, musicals and light dramas. There is plenty of free parking in front of, on the side and behind the playhouse. We also offer discounts for seniors during our Sunday matinee shows as well as for our Friday night performances.
